From 1st September 2006 all children over 3 years of age and up to 135cm in height (approx 4 ft 5 inches) MUST use the appropriate child restraint (car seat or booster seat). Non-Compliance will result in a £30 Fixed Penalty notice NB. If the case proceeds to court, a maximum fine of £500 may be incurred.
